What's Different about Direct Primary Care

A Solo, Independent, Direct Pay Practice and FAQ

*Do we take insurance (i.e. Medicare, Medicaid, AHCCCS etc.)?

No. Dayna works for you – not an insurance company.

*What’s ages do we provide Direct Primary Care for?

Ages 13 and up. Max of 4 in a family.

*What about medications, x-rays, MRIs and other tests?

If you have a PPO-type insurance or Medicare, generally the tests ordered by Dayna can be billed to your insurance and you pay whatever co-pay or percentage as usual for your insurance. Pending the tier, every member gets $100-200 of labs per year included in the membership. If you need more in labs and have insurance Dayna can order the labs through your insurance. If you don't have insurance or prefer not to use insurance because of a high deductible plan, the discounted lab pricing will be offered to you. Often the discounted lab pricing is cheaper than going through your insurance.

*Do I still need insurance when I have Direct Primary Care?

We recommended at least catastrophic insurance or a health share for most people. Illness can happen when we least expect it, and taking care of that illness can be expensive. Insurance or a health share can be good to have for unexpected surgeries, hospitalizations or other very expensive healthcare needs that aren't part of primary care. This said, if you don't have health insurance you are still welcome to sign up at Rejuvenated Health and Wellness Direct Primary Care.

*Is this concierge care? Is Dayna available after hours and on the weekends?

Personal, convenient and excellent quality care is the goal at Rejuvenated Health and Wellness Direct Primary Care. So, if that is what you think of when you think of concierge care, then yes, it is concierge care! If you think of concierge care as having a doctor you can call in the middle of the night or on the weekends, then Rejuvenated Health and Wellness Direct Primary Care would not be defined as concierge by that definition. Though you may have seen that some concierge practices offer "24/7 Availability" the question you may want to ask yourself is, "Is that truly necessary for me?" Also, do you want a provider that is always "on" with no time away from work? And last, if you truly need to reach a doctor urgently in the middle of the night what you probably need is an emergency room full of many different types of doctors, nurses and special equipment like CT scanners, a catheter lab and an operating room.

Rejuvenated Health and Wellness Direct Primary Care is a solo practice, meaning its just Dayna, and as she'll tell you regarding your own health, everyone needs time at work and time away from work to recharge. So, she walks the talk on this one; She is only available during business hours. Don't worry though, if you think of something in the middle of the night, you can use the handy-dandy online scheduler to make an appointment and then send her an email with all your concerns so you can rest easy knowing you have something on the books! So, if you are looking for a great Nurse Practitioner who can handle your primary care needs and more, who will get to know you and will take excellent care of your general non-emergency health needs, then you have found the right place.

*Will you have a copay?

No.

*What forms of payment are accepted?

Cash, Debit, and credit cards are accepted, (except American Express). Credit and debit cards are kept on file and billed monthly.

*Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. However, good primary care is based on a long-term relationship so we hope that you keep this membership long-term, but if you feel that this membership is not serving your healthcare needs you can cancel at any time, and we will forward your records to your new primary care provider. Re-enrollment will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will incur a re-enrollment fee of $500.

*What is a Family Nurse Practitioner? What kind of medication does Dayna Prescribe?

Dayna is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner which means her scope of practice includes family-individual across the life span, Adult-Gerontology primary or acute care, neonatal, pediatric primary care or acute care, Women’s health gender related, psychiatric-mental health. She can take care of most of your Primary Care and some specialty needs including medications (if applicable). For those on medications like Percocet (opiates) or Xanax (benzodiazepines) we recommend pain medicine specialists or psychiatrists be the sole prescriber of these medications.

*Is Direct Primary Care (DPC) right for me?

People who benefit most from Direct Primary Care generally fall into a few categories. The first category is those who cannot afford traditional insurance. Direct Primary Care can take care of 80-90% of most health needs so this is definitely a benefit for those who cannot afford traditional insurance. Medications and tests will still come at an extra charge, but we will work hard to find a self-pay solution. The second category is those who are fed up with short visits, this doesn't make for great care and Direct Primary Care absolutely benefits those in this position. The third category is the small business owner or person who has a high deductible plan. Since they pay out of pocket for most things, having a primary care provider that doesn't charge by the visit or interaction is the right choice for many in this position. Some small business owners also choose a health share + DPC instead of traditional insurance. In summary, many people can benefit from Direct Primary Care.
