Alpha Lipoic Acid

Alpha Lipoic Acid is an antioxidant that is made by the body and is found in every cell. AlphaLipoic Acid helps turn glucose into energy.  As an antioxidant, it attacks free radicals and waste products created when the body turns food into energy.  Free radicals cause harmful chemical reactions that can damage organs and tissues and damage cells in the body, making it harder for the body to fight off infections.

Many antioxidants work only in water (such as Vitamin C) or fatty tissues (such as Vitamin E), but Alpha-Lipoic Acid is both fat and water soluble making it active in virtually every ell in the body.  In addition to neutralizing harmful free radicals, Alpha Lipoid Acid regenerates and increases levels of Vitamin C, E, Coenzyme Q10 and glutathione.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is a mitochondrial powerhouse.  It not only protects your energy-producing factories from free radical damage, it also helps "prep" the fuel burned in the mitochondria and increases the amount of energy generated. Furthermore, it has a unique ability to neutralize toxins, chelate heavy metals, and protect against DNA damage. These multiple actions make Alpha Lipoid Acid a valuable ally against diabetes, liver damage, cancer and a host of other disease - it even slows down aging.

Alpha Lipoic Acid, also known as ALA, helps to maintain good health by helping to support proper brain and immune system function.
